Ever since we removed an old, aging kitchen cabinet from the wall a couple months ago, I’ve had kitchens on the brain. We’ve been in research mode when it comes to kitchen remodels — we met with kitchen design consultants from both Home Depot and IKEA — and of course I’ve been searching Pinterest for all the colorful kitchen ideas I can possibly find.

Colorful kitchen ideas: Bring on the blues
In case you haven’t seen my home, I kinda have a thing with blue. This is definitely one color that’ll make an appearance in v2 of our kitchen. Here are some blue kitchens I’ve discovered recently:
I love this shade of blue used on the lower cabinets — it’s called Pepper Tree from Devoe Paints.

This moody green kitchen is waaaaay too cool. And check out that tile. Tile is a pretty easy upgrade in a kitchen. Don’t have existing tile and don’t feel like installing any? Grab a wall stencil and some paint for a budget-friendly “tile” install.

Colorful kitchen ideas: A shot of sunshine
Wanna give your kitchen a big jolt of color? The right shade of yellow can bring a whole lot of happy to a kitchen. Sprinkle in yellow accessories or, if you’re feeling adventurous, go bold with yellow cabinets.
If colorful cabinets feel like too much of a commitment (I get it!), then adding colorful wallpaper is a great way to add a splash of color that’s not too permanent. This floral wallpaper is seriously my favorite thing ever. Favorite. Did I mention it’s my favorite?!
